Nikon 70-180 Macro on EOS5D
« on: May 06, 2008, 06:08:34 PM »

Question,

I just recently purchased the Nikon 70-180 Macro and have used it on my 5D.  I used a Hoada Fu lens adapter, but now believe, from reading responses to problems with the mirror of the 5D hitting the rear element of some lenses, that I had this occur during my shoot.  Is there anyone out there using this lens on a 5D that can recommend the correct adapter ring.  Price is not really an issue since I paid top dollar for the lens and quite abit more for the camera.

Thanks very much.

All the adapter rings SHOULD be the same. The idea is to offset the camera and lems mount by exactly the correct amount so that the lens will focus properly (and focus to infinity). in the case of a Nikon to Canon adapter, it should be 2.5mm thick.
